Project overview
A hospital restaurant built around how little time people have
Sodexo has unveiled the second fully refurbished Kitchen Works restaurant at Ipswich Hospital, introducing a modern dining space incorporating new digital ordering services, to provide busy time-pressed frontline staff, visitors and patients with an enhanced, convenience-led food services experience.
The restaurant now provides a warm, welcoming, ergonomically-designed dining space featuring different seating options, from traditional tables and chairs to soft-seating areas and relaxation zones.
Scope and delivery
Labour, fit-out and procurement, all in-house
One team covered the build and the furniture, so the restaurant opened complete rather than in stages.
Build, flooring and decoration
Our team carried out all labour, flooring and decoration across the restaurant and its circulation space.
Electrics and joinery
All electrical works and joinery delivered in-house, including the servery counters and timber wall treatments.
Digital ordering
The space built around new digital ordering services, with order and collection points positioned to keep queues moving.
Mixed seating zones
Traditional tables and chairs alongside soft-seating areas and relaxation zones, so people can eat, meet or decompress.
Furniture and finishing touches
We supplied and installed all furniture, upholstery, signage, vinyl graphics and faux plants.
