What we do with the details you send us, and what this website does and does not store on your device.
Who we are
This site is operated by Hoxton Hotbox Design and Build Ltd, trading as Hox Box Design & Build, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 15887131, whose registered office is 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE. We are the data controller for any personal information described on this page.
If you have a question about this policy, or about information we hold about you, email [email protected] or call 07584 281831.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us. The contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, the type of project you have in mind and whatever you write in the message box. The phone number and project type are optional.
The form does not post to a server. Submitting it opens a pre-filled message in your own email client, which you then send yourself, so the details reach us as an ordinary email and nothing is stored on this website.
If you email or call us directly, we hold that correspondence in the same way.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use what you send us to answer your enquiry, arrange a call or site visit, prepare a quote and, if the project goes ahead, to deliver it. Our lawful basis for this is legitimate interests: responding to someone who has asked us to get in touch, and running our business. Where you become a client, we also process what is necessary to perform our contract with you.
We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, we do not build profiles, and we never sell or rent them.
Who else sees it
Your enquiry is read by the Hox Box team. It reaches us through our email provider, which processes it on our behalf.
On a live project we may need to pass relevant details to subcontractors, suppliers or consultants working on that project, and to our accountants or insurers where we are required to. We share only what those parties need, and we do not give anyone access to your information for their own purposes.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a project are kept for two years from our last contact with you, in case the project comes back to us, and are then deleted. Records relating to completed projects are kept for as long as we need them for contractual, insurance, warranty and tax purposes, which for construction work is typically several years after practical completion.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising or social media tracking, no tag manager and no pixel of any kind, and nothing is written to your browser's local or session storage. Because there is nothing stored on your device that is not strictly necessary, you will not see a cookie consent banner, and there is nothing for you to accept or reject.
One part of the site does make a request to someone else's server. The map in the "Areas we cover" section loads its background map from OpenFreeMap, a free map service built on OpenStreetMap data. To send you the map OpenFreeMap necessarily receives your IP address and basic browser information, in the same way as any site you visit. It sets no cookies through this and we receive nothing back from it. Details are published at openfreemap.org.
If we ever add analytics, this section will change and a proper consent banner will appear before anything is set.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our using it on the basis of legitimate interests, and ask for it in a portable format. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month.
To make a request, email [email protected].
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Keeping it safe
This site is served over HTTPS. Because the contact form sends through your own email client rather than posting to us, your enquiry is only ever as secure as ordinary email, so please do not send anything highly sensitive through it. Information we hold is kept on business systems with access limited to the people who need it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and the date below it. This version is current as of the date shown.
